Hercule

Husky · Male · Puppy

Hercule is a 6-month-old young dog full of energy and joy for life. Curious, playful and always ready for a new adventure, he is still discovering the world around him and needs a family willing to accompany him in this learning process. Very close to humans, Hercule greatly appreciates companionship and seeks contact. He likes being with his reference people and does not tolerate long absences well. A present family, or one ready to teach him gradually how to be alone, will be essential for his well-being. Like any young dog, he still has a lot to learn. Cleanliness, walking on a leash, house rules and basic education must be continued with patience, gentleness and regularity. He is an intelligent puppy who only wants to progress alongside invested people. Hercule will suit an active family that can offer him walks, play time, thinking activities and reassuring presence. With appropriate guidance, he will become a faithful, affectionate and lively companion, ready to share many years of happiness with his future family.

About Hercule

What life with Hercule looks like

Hercule is a puppy/kitten husky dog waiting at SPA de Besançon in France.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Hercule, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Hercule?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SPA de Besançon handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Hercule on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Hercule if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SPA de Besançon will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Hercule already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Hercule isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SPA de Besançon early rather than rehoming privately; they know Hercule and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
