Hérics

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 2 years

Hérics is a bull-type female born in September 2023, who was taken into our care from the Salgótarján animal shelter. We do not know her past, but based on her behavior it can be suspected that she did not bring the best memories with her. She is currently wary of people, approaching new situations cautiously, but we are working day by day to show her that human hands can not only hurt, but also caress and love. Hérics still needs time for her emotional wounds to heal, but we believe that with patience, consistency and a lot of love she will be able to open up. We are looking for a breed-aware, patient owner who is not afraid to earn her trust. We imagine her future with a family who accepts her own pace, helps her develop, and finally lives as a full-fledged family member in a safe, loving home. She can be adopted as a fully sterilized family member after sterilization. Inquiries about her and appointment for a personal meeting are available at the 06 30 221 1299 phone number from Monday to Saturday between 10 am and 3 pm, or cookies must be enabled to access the Like button.

About Hérics

What life with Hérics looks like

Hérics is a small young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Noé Állatotthon in Budapest.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇭🇺Adopting from Hungary

Hungarian shelters operate at high capacity given the country's stray population. Animals leave sterilized, chipped, and with a passport. Many shelters coordinate transport to Germany, Austria, and the Nordics.

Frequently asked

Adopting Hérics, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Hérics?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Noé Állatotthon handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Hérics on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Hérics if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Noé Állatotthon will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Hérics already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Hérics isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Noé Állatotthon early rather than rehoming privately; they know Hérics and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (HU). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
