Male · Young · 1 year

Born: 15.11.2025, male, microchipped, vaccinated Size: approx. 55 cm Weight (as of May 2026): 26 kg Rasse: Strobel/Gelbbacke fellow animals: yes; Cats: yes, Children: yes This is only a first assessment. Teddy lives currently in a foster home with a female dog and a cat. Teddy is a very friendly young dog. He is playful, curious, and eager to learn. Teddy loves walks in nature. When it comes to strangers and new situations, Teddy is a bit unsure, but that will naturally change with training. For his age, he is very patient and really well-behaved. Additionally, Teddy is very respectful. Teddy can already be left alone for a while without issues. -1 .gallery-item { border: 2px solid ; -1 .gallery-caption { Unfortunately, Teddy has problems with car rides. He drools very heavily and sometimes even vomits. This can change as he gets older. Since Teddy is a Strobel (an old German hunting dog), it can be assumed that he needs more than just three walks a day. As he belongs to the working dogs, he needs to be adequately exercised. Teddy is a real treasure. If you want to meet this wonderful dog, contact…

-5 .gallery-item { border: 2px solid ; -5 .gallery-caption { /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */ Leider hat Teddy Probleme beim Autofahren.

About Herr Strobel (Teddy)

What life with Herr Strobel (Teddy) looks like

Herr Strobel (Teddy) is a young adult dog waiting at Tierhilfe Rhein-Hunsrück e.V. in Germany.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Herr Strobel (Teddy), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Herr Strobel (Teddy)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierhilfe Rhein-Hunsrück e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Herr Strobel (Teddy) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Herr Strobel (Teddy) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierhilfe Rhein-Hunsrück e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Herr Strobel (Teddy) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Herr Strobel (Teddy) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierhilfe Rhein-Hunsrück e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Herr Strobel (Teddy) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
