Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 2 years

Birthdate: 27.03.2024 Size: approx. 30 cm, approx. 6 kg EU Vaccination Certificate: vaccinated, microchipped, Vertragsfähig mit Hunden: ja Vertragsfähig mit Katzen: ja Kathy was found on the street together with her canine sibling. She was dirty and emaciated – a sight that makes one’s heart heavy. And yet, from the very first moment, she showed how much joy and trust she has within her: with a grateful look, she accepted her first meal and enjoyed every kind word, as if she had been waiting for someone to finally notice her. She was taken in by our Mr. Nikolaus, an 80-year-old animal-loving person, and was well cared for. Today, Kathy shows what a wonderful female dog she is. She is clever, attentive, and learns incredibly fast. In the house, she has settled in quickly, and house training was no problem for her. Kathy understands what is expected of her and wants to do everything right. The small, white female dog with her fluffy fur is not only a true treasure in appearance – her nature is warm, loving, and loyal, but she is also agile, as one would expect from a young female dog. She seeks the company of humans, enjoys affection, and will be a wonderful companion to her future family. Whoever gives Kathy a home wins a loyal friend for life. A family that chooses her will undoubtedly have a lot of joy with her – because Kathy gives all the love she receives back a thousandfold. Maybe you are the person Kathy has been eagerly waiting for? Almost all of our dogs show themselves to be extremely friendly to people, dogs, and cats in Romania. Still, it should be considered that all dogs must be trained and integrated into the family routine in their new home. If you want to give the dear Kathy a home, please call one of our phone numbers: In a personal conversation, we can answer questions and discuss our placement criteria. Gets along with other dogs.

About Herz

What life with Herz looks like

Herz is a small young adult mixed breed dog waiting at TierOase ThoMa e.V. in Germany.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Herz, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Herz?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. TierOase ThoMa e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Herz on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Herz if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — TierOase ThoMa e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Herz already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Herz isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with TierOase ThoMa e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Herz and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
