Herzblatt

adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Herzblatt has found his home! His story: Herzblatt is a 9-month-old male dog who arrived in his foster home in 53572 Unkel at the beginning of November. There, he lives with two other dogs and has shown from the first day absolute compatibility and sociability. He is a quiet, relaxed young dog who is neither belligerent nor intrusive and meets people and fellow animals equally friendly. In everyday life, Herzblatt still shows a little caution towards new situations or strangers, but makes visible progress and warms up day by day. He already walks very well on a leash, is house-trained, and shows no food aggression. Also, the foster home is currently practicing being left alone. Herzblatt would be happy with a home where he can discover the world at his own pace. He can be both a single dog or a second dog – both would suit him. His build is something special: short legs and a long back. To stay healthy, many stairs should be avoided daily. A normal, joint-friendly level of activity is ideal for him. For that, he loves mental stimulation like search and sniff games and plays in general very much. Currently, "Herzi" is about 40 cm tall and will still grow a little more. Herzblatt is already treated for fleas, dewormed, and microchipped and can move into his new home for an adoption fee of 500 Euros. He is not neutered and has his EU pet passport. If you want to give a lovable, gentle young pup a warm dog bed, Herzblatt will thank you with a lot of love and trust. Many thanks to the namesake Ker Wa, who gave the little Herzblatt his name! As of: 22.11.

Stand: 22.11.2025

About Herzblatt

What life with Herzblatt looks like

Herzblatt is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Herzblatt, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Herzblatt?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Herzblatt on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Herzblatt if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Herzblatt already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Herzblatt isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Herzblatt and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
