Hidra

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy

Mastin mixed breed Hidra is ready for her happiness. Hidra came to the Spanish animal shelter in May 2026. By then, she should have been exploring the world—protected, loved, and full of carefree puppy adventures. Instead, she was already exposed in young months and now grows behind the bars of an animal shelter. But despite this sad start, Hidra has kept her zest for life. She is an incredibly loving, friendly, and clingy young female dog who enjoys the company of humans very much. She also shows herself to be exceptionally social with other dogs. She has already been successfully introduced to both male and female dogs, and so far, she seems to get along well with every four-legged friend. Hidra is full of curiosity, charm, and joy. Like every puppy, she still needs loving guidance, patience, and consistent training to grow into a balanced companion. However, she brings the best prerequisites with her and appears ready to discover the world by her people's side. Since Hidra likely carries Mastín genes, we wish for her a home in a rural setting with plenty of space and people who appreciate the qualities of these impressive dogs. A house with a securely fenced garden would be ideal for her. No puppy should spend its childhood behind bars. Hidra deserves a family that gives her security, a soft dog bed, exciting walks, and all the beautiful things that belong to a happy dog's life. Who would like to give this wonderful young female dog the chance at a new life? Even a foster home would greatly help Hidra and allow her to start on a better future. Her mediator looks forward to your message if you are interested. This animal was abandoned.

About Hidra

What life with Hidra looks like

Hidra is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Hidra, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Hidra?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Hidra on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Hidra if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Hidra already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Hidra isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Hidra and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
