Adopt Hillary

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 1 year

Hillary is approximately 50 cm (still growing) and is looking for a loving home! Born on March 1, 2025, this gentle mixed-breed female dog is on the hunt for a quiet and understanding person who will give her time to settle in and build trust. Hillary was surrendered to the animal shelter Nirina in Tuzla, Bosnia, along with her four siblings. Without her mother and with a weakened immune system, we were very concerned about her survival – but all five have managed through the tough times and are now ready for their new chapter. Unlike her more lively siblings, Hillary is a quiet, gentle puppy. She is initially a bit shy and needs time to feel safe and relaxed. But when she builds trust, she shows her delicate, loyal nature, seeking love and affection. Hillary enjoys quiet environments and gentle touches, preferring to observe first before approaching. Like any puppy, she is curious and eager to learn, but takes her own pace. With patience and loving support, Hillary will grow into an attached companion. Due to her origin, we can only estimate her final size: as an adult, she is expected to be about 50 cm tall and around 18 kg. If you are a quiet, understanding soul and would like to give Hillary a loving home, we look forward to your contact! Hillary travels vaccinated, microchipped, and with an international pet passport from Bosnia. Our dogs are only placed after a positive assessment. wird ca 50 cm (wächst noch) Hillary sucht ein liebevolles Zuhause! About Hillary

What life with Hillary looks like

Hillary is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierhilfe Pfotentraum Chance auf Leben e.V. in Linden.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Hillary, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Hillary?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierhilfe Pfotentraum Chance auf Leben e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Hillary on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Hillary if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierhilfe Pfotentraum Chance auf Leben e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Hillary already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Hillary isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierhilfe Pfotentraum Chance auf Leben e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Hillary and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
