adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Hodi has found his people! His story: Are you looking for a young, pretty, and small dog who will accompany you through your daily life? Then Hodi might be just the right one! The pretty Hodi is currently waiting at the shelter in Baia Mare for a second chance. A new home, a warm spot, and lots of love would make him a happy dog. But for that, he still needs the right people who will open their hearts to him and want to explain life as a house dog to him with much patience and empathy. Unfortunately, we know nothing about Hodis background. But for the little guy, only the future now counts. And that should definitely get better! That's why we've photographed him and posted him on this page. Now we hope that Hodi will be seen and adopted by loving animal people very soon. But even a foster home would make the pretty, young male dog's jump into a new, better life easier. Hodi is about 1.5 years old and approximately 35 to 40 cm tall. With his shiny black, short fur with a white breast spot and black button eyes, he is a very pretty and appealing dog. At first, Hodi is a bit shy but very curious and friendly. One can already handle the brave little guy. He also gets along well with fellow animals. Hodi has a good age and a practical size and would fit into a more quiet household so that he can settle in and build trust in peace. Age-appropriately, he is still in his puberty and may put the patience of his new people to the test from time to time. And probably, he has never lived in a house and has never heard of housecleaning and leash manners. But through patient and consistent training, his new people can support Hodis development into a reliable companion and a happy house dog. We would also recommend attending a positively working dog training class. Hodi can travel to his new home with an EU pet passport neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated. He was named Hodi by his "Christmas angel" Conni S., who gave him his name and thus his own identity. As of: 01.01.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 01.01.2026

About Hodi

What life with Hodi looks like

Hodi is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Hodi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Hodi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Hodi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Hodi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Hodi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Hodi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Hodi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
