Adopt Honda

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 4 years

A small body with a big spirit! This can be said about Honda, who despite the bad conditions in which she lived for about four years, did not lose her faith in people and in herself! She had reasons to do so... Honda is a female dog taken from a place that cannot be called a "home". She was taken in an intervention from poor conditions in a village near Wrocław, where she was not properly treated, without her own space ("neither a house nor a shed"), without access to water and fighting for leftovers of food with other dogs. Initially when she came to us, she was terrified, afraid of people and of hands reaching towards her. However, as time passed and with the patience of volunteers, step by step she began to beautifully open up and gave us a chance, she trusted, and now she is looking for a permanent home. Honda is a very well-mannered, friendly dog who loves walks. Despite her small size, she has the desire and energy for new adventures on walks. She is about 4 years old, very well-mannered and walks nicely on a leash. Honda is not aggressive and does not bite. She also had a diagnosed false pregnancy, but she has already overcome it. Honda deserves a home that will surround her with love and show that a person is a lifelong friend. Honda is vaccinated and ready for a better life, and will require neutering.

A miała ku temu powody….

About Honda

What life with Honda looks like

Honda is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja EkoStraż in Wrocław.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Honda, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Honda?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja EkoStraż handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Honda on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Honda if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja EkoStraż will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Honda already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Honda isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja EkoStraż early rather than rehoming privately; they know Honda and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
