Honden ter adoptie

Male · Adult · 4 years

This handsome guy is named Bernie. Bernie's estimated birthdate is January 2022. Bernie is an Amstaff (mix?) We never know for sure if he is purebred, as he was found on the street. Bernie is currently staying at the Sos Dogs animal shelter in Romania. Bernie is a sweetie, very social with both people and other dogs. He is playful, loves walking, enjoys attention and likes to be near you. He can be very relaxed and enjoy lounging, but is also very playful and enjoys a nice long walk. Given his breed (mix), we are really looking for owners who understand this type of dog. Bernie deserves this chance! Bernie is still in Romania and can come to the Netherlands if an owner is found. If you are interested in Bernie, please send us a message with your living and work situation and any experience with dogs. If after an intake conversation it turns out you are a match, an appointment can be made to pick him up at our small shelter in Didam. Bernie is The adoption fee is € 390. This is a contribution to the costs such as spaying/neutering, the trip to the Netherlands, European pet passport, chip and vaccinations. Also read the adoption information and our adoption conditions. This animal is microchipped.

About Honden ter adoptie

What life with Honden ter adoptie looks like

Honden ter adoptie is a adult dog waiting at SOS Dogs Nederland in NN Didam.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇳🇱Adopting from Netherlands

Dutch shelters typically require a household assessment and an adoption contract. Animals are routinely sterilized, microchipped, and registered in the national pet database (NDG) before placement.

Frequently asked

Adopting Honden ter adoptie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Honden ter adoptie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SOS Dogs Nederland handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Honden ter adoptie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Honden ter adoptie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SOS Dogs Nederland will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Honden ter adoptie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Honden ter adoptie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SOS Dogs Nederland early rather than rehoming privately; they know Honden ter adoptie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
