Hoop

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 1 year

Hoop is a sweet, gentle little girl who loves people and enjoys cuddles. She can be a bit shy in new situations or around strangers, but with a moment to settle in, her curiosity takes over and she comes up to people to make contact. With her cute nature and little squeaky voice, she quickly wins hearts. Hoop is also a relatively easy-going dog. She already accepts a harness and leash and is making progress, but still needs some practice walking on a leash. She gets along well with other dogs and is familiar with living with them. Cats have not been tested with her. Hoop is about 1 year old, around 30 cm tall and weighs about 9 kg. She is a small dog who likes to be close to people without being pushy. With time and confidence, she can open up more and show how lovable and curious she is. Hoop's story began on a property right next to our shelter. She lived there with other dogs. She originally had an owner, but he left the country to work and left the dogs behind. The local people and we took care of the animals at first. When we learned that the owner would probably be away for a long time, we took Hoop and two other dogs into our care. So she also got the chance to wait for a home of her own. For Hoop, we are looking for people who will give her some time at the beginning and not overwhelm her with too many new impressions. She will get to know her new home, unfamiliar sounds and situations, and walking on a leash step by step. With calmness, patience, and positive support, she can gain more trust and develop into a great little companion. Hoop already has a lot to offer: she is lovable, people-oriented, curious, gets along well with other dogs, and is generally easy-going. It's especially nice that after a short hesitation, she seeks out contact herself and enjoys cuddles. Hoop travels spayed, vaccinated, chipped, dewormed, and de-fleaed with her valid EU pet passport after a positive pre-check and for a deposit fee to her new home. A foster home would also be a wonderful opportunity for her to make the transition from the shelter to her own life. Thank you, Marion! You gave Hoop her witty name! As of 10/02/2026

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Vielen Dank Marion! Du hast Hoop ihren witzigen Namen geschenkt! About Hoop

What life with Hoop looks like

Hoop is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Hoop, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Hoop?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Hoop on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Hoop if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Hoop already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Hoop isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Hoop and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
