adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Hope has found a home! Her story: Hope is currently about 5 months old and brims with joy, which she can't fully express in the shelter. She is friendly, active, curious, and loves being petted. She is eager to see and experience everything—preferably with her people. Hope shows puppy-like playfulness, loves treats, and wants to be the center of attention. Hope is described as breathtakingly beautiful, but also her personality and character will surely inspire our local helpers! Hope was found as a puppy near the place where our helper Alexandra lives. She constantly ran to every person and begged for attention and food. She was likely abandoned there because she was already very accustomed to people. Her parents are unknown, but she is likely to grow to a medium to large size. Currently, she is about 45 cm tall and weighs 15 kg. Her start in her dog life was tough, but we hope her remaining dog life will be filled with love. Hope now needs a loving and empathetic family where she will be loved, spoiled, and raised with much patience and respect. With her open and friendly nature, she brings great preconditions and will surely be eager to learn and understand the dog ABC. A visit to dog training classes will give her additional stability and the contact with other dog friends will surely bring her much joy! At the moment, Hope is a beautiful and sweet puppy that longs for love and attention. But her puberty won't be far off, and laying the foundations for her young dog life is primarily important. Puberty is a time to test new boundaries and question what has been learned, and overcoming it together will make Hope a great companion in life. Hope travels vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and treated for fleas and has her own EU pet passport. She will only be placed after a positive assessment. A foster home will also greatly help the wonderful Hope! In love and ready for shared adventures? Then sign up quickly! Many thanks, Lisa T.! You named Hope! Date: 16.09.

Dann melde dich schnell! Vielen Dank Lisa T.! Du hast Hope ihren Namen geschenkt! About Hope

What life with Hope looks like

Hope is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Hope, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Hope?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Hope on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Hope if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Hope already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Hope isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Hope and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
