Our Hugo is a typical representative of his breed in many ways. He is very open and playful with his caregivers but just as vigilant around strangers. He has a relatively high energy level and wants to be both physically and mentally challenged. Of course, it should be noted that 44 kg is a weight not to be underestimated even during playtime. On the leash he walks very well and is appreciated by our dog walkers. We are looking for people who already have experience with dogs and can show him the world with the necessary consistency. He knows his muzzle and wears it well and safely. No other dogs should live in the household and children due to his boisterous nature need to be steady. The owners reported resource guarding, but he only shows this slightly. Here is an excerpt: Character and temperament "The breed is intelligent, self-confident and loyal. With consistent training and good socialization, the Dogo Argentino is friendly towards people and children, but often shows dominance over other dogs. He has a strong protective instinct and is suitable as a guard dog, family dog and hunting dog. Due to his strength and stubbornness he is only suitable for experienced dog owners."

Unser Hugo ist in vielerlei Hinsicht ein typischer Vertreter seiner Rasse. Er ist seinen Bezugspersonen gegenüber sehr aufgeschlossen und verspielt, ist aber genauso wachsam bei ihm fremden Personen. Er hat ein relativ hohes Energielevel und möchte sowohl körperlich, als auch geistig ausgelastet werden. Natürlich sollte beachtet werden, dass 44 Kilo eine auch im Spiel nicht zu unterschätzende Masse ist. An der Leine geht er sehr vorbildlich und ist bei unseren Gassigleuten geschätzt. Für ihn suchen wir Menschen die bereits Hundeerfahrung besitzen und ihm mit der nötigen Konsequenz die Welt zeigen. Seinen Maulkorb kennt er und trägt diesen auch gut und sicher. Im Haushalt sollten keine anderen Hunde leben und Kinder aufgrund seiner stürmischen Art standfest. Von den Abgebenden wurde uns von Resourcenverteidigung berichtet, bei uns zeigt er das nur ansatzweise. Hier noch ein Auszug: Charakter und Wesen „Die Rasse ist intelligent, selbstbewusst und loyal. Mit konsequenter Erziehung und guter Sozialisation ist der Dogo Argentino freundlich zu Menschen und Kindern, zeigt aber gegenüber Artgenossen oft Dominanz. Er besitzt einen ausgeprägten Beschützerinstinkt und eignet sich als Wachhund, Familienhund und Jagdhund. Aufgrund seiner Stärke und Eigenwilligkeit ist er nur für erfahrene Hundehalter geeignet.“
