Humus

Mixed Breed · Unknown

Humus came to us very frightened. Any attempt to put on a leash ended with him running away. We worked for several weeks on building his trust. He has opened up a bit. He enjoys every walk, but is still cautious. He is afraid of sudden movements. He doesn't show his teeth - when he's afraid, he just lies down. He was found with a huge number of ticks. Covered with ticks on every inch of his body, big ticks!!!! Someone didn't take care of the dog - they should be punished. Now we are looking for a responsible, calm home. Humus is a quiet dog, gets along with a female dog, knows the leash. We are looking for a home without small children. Humus is a small dog, about 10 kg on short legs. A little fat! He was born around 2015. He is vaccinated, microchipped and neutered.

PL·Show original

Taki grubasek! Urodził się w około 2015 roku. Jest zaszczepiony, zaczipowany I wykastrowany. KASIA 507 237 447 OLA 533 564 074

About Humus

What life with Humus looks like

Humus is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko Radom in Radom.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Humus, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Humus?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Radom handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Humus on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Humus if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Radom will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Humus already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Humus isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Radom early rather than rehoming privately; they know Humus and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
