Hund

Mixed Breed · Male

Our Nobby tells you: It's not that I don't feel comfortable in the animal shelter. I can run in my large run every morning, and around noon, my kind handlers will take me for a walk. We then take several rounds, often also with dog buddies, and my friends are always growing. Even on the dog field, I can let off some steam with my "girlfriends." However, I never thought I would be spending so much time here in the animal shelter. I would like a quiet couple or even a single person; it should just not be so much hustle and bustle at home, which I don't know. Overall, I love being outside, have my own area, and my hut. I think I'm a great guy, in my best age. My favorites have already taught me so much, and every day I learn more. I can now even drive in the car. For some situations with hustle and bustle, I have also been accustomed to wearing a muzzle. I would be so happy if someone would take the time to get to know me! If that's the case, please contact the animal shelter by email or phone. __________________________________ The mixed breed Nobby wants a good home with lots of cuddles and closeness to a person, as he is very cuddly. The male dog has a nice medium size and easy-to-groom fur. If the neutered male dog is well-mannered, he is a clingy and grateful companion. The 7-year-old neutered male dog has a medium size. Nobby needs stability and guidance through an experienced dog owner. What he doesn't like – if strangers directly stare at him, it feels threatening. Nobby has made many "dog friends" in the animal shelter with whom he goes for nice walks, but he can also be walked alone. He also has no problems with encounters with other dogs. The sponsorship for Nobby has been taken over by the Hohberger family.

About Hund

What life with Hund looks like

Hund is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierheim Hof in Hof.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Hund, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Hund?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Hof handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Hund on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Hund if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Hof will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Hund already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Hund isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Hof early rather than rehoming privately; they know Hund and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
