Husko

Male · Young · 1 year

Husko (pronounced Hasko), French Bulldog, male, neutered, born March 2023 Husko was surrendered to us because his family could no longer cope with him. The little, self-confident dog quickly realized that he could get his way. At 5 months old, he refused to wear his harness and snapped. This escalated, resulting in not just bruises but also bleeding, simply because he didn't want to be petted. Husko is not to blame. The family had never owned a dog before and couldn't interpret Husko's little power struggles. Husko was not shown any boundaries. Husko is fed hypoallergenic food, as he otherwise scratches himself. He was born in Germany. We are looking for very experienced dog owners, no children, who are familiar with this breed and difficult dogs. Update from January 1, 2025: Husko is back. Unfortunately, people often don't believe us and don't take our advice. We don't embellish anything and inform the interested parties about everything we know, but sometimes we have the feeling that people don't believe us or don't even listen. We still hear the words during the mediation: he'll never come back! And now the little bully is back with us. Husko has two faces. He is loving and funny, and in the next second, he bites without warning. He also destroys his food and toys, which is why no other dog should be in the new home. We are looking for the needle in the haystack for the little Molosser. Somewhere there must be that one person who takes on the challenge and offers Husko a life outside the animal shelter. Update from June 9, 2026: Unfortunately, Husko still has not found a home. Where are all the Bulldog lovers? Husko has developed very positively with us. If he knows and accepts a person, he lets everything happen to him. He is such a crazy, funny, little clown. Somewhere there must also be the right person for him. Update from October 28, 2026: Husko was briefly placed, but unfortunately, he snapped again. Husko has learned since puppyhood that everything goes his way if he threatens and attacks. No dog is born aggressive. The human shapes the dog. We are currently receiving almost daily emails and calls from dog owners who can no longer cope with their dogs because they suddenly bite. Often, these people have had the dog since puppyhood. We are in favor of a dog owner's license! It can't go on like this. The dogs and the animal shelters are the ones who suffer.

About Husko

What life with Husko looks like

Husko is a small young adult dog waiting at Tierheim Sinsheim in Sinsheim.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Husko, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Husko?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Sinsheim handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Husko on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Husko if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Sinsheim will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Husko already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Husko isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Sinsheim early rather than rehoming privately; they know Husko and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
