ICE

Husky · Female

ICE the darkest and youngest dog shows no shyness towards people. She walks well. At the beginning of the walk, she may be a bit lively, but then she walks willingly. There is no problem during the walk either. Daisy, the dog with the blue eyes, has already been adopted, and now Ice is left alone. We get the impression that ICE is somewhat lethargic; she clearly doesn’t care about anything anymore. Maybe she thinks… why couldn’t I come too. So we hope that someone who reads this will open their heart to this beautiful dog, and by that, we mean not only her appearance but certainly and definitely her character. Ice and Daisy came to us due to medical problems of the owner, and because of that, he, with a broken heart, had to part ways with his dogs. A good enclosed garden with a sufficiently high fence and an owner who gives this dog plenty of exercise is a must. Someone familiar with the breed is an absolute plus. About ICE

What life with ICE looks like

ICE is a adult husky dog waiting at Dierenwereldkruis VZW in Bornem.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇧🇪Adopting from Belgium

Belgian shelters operate under regional law (Flanders, Wallonia, Brussels each have their own rules). All adoptions include the Eurochip, vaccinations, and a stewardship contract. Several Flemish shelters partner with Dutch and German rescue networks.

Frequently asked

Adopting ICE, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about ICE?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dierenwereldkruis VZW handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw ICE on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt ICE if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dierenwereldkruis VZW will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is ICE already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if ICE isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dierenwereldkruis VZW early rather than rehoming privately; they know ICE and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
