Idefix

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 3 months

adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Idefix has found his luck! His story: Friendly, playful, and simply irresistible: Idefix is a young puppy with a big heart. At around 3 months old, standing 36 cm at the shoulder and weighing 8 kg, he brings everything you could want in a family dog: He is very cute, loves cuddles, is curious, playful, and shows himself to be especially friendly – both towards people and towards other animals and even chickens. The little guy is an open, uncomplicated puppy, ready to explore the world – by the side of his own family. He finds snacks great – just like playing together, his favorite being with his brother Prinz Charming or his rescuer, our helper Heni. Idefix was rescued together with his brother by Heni, the niece of our helper. The two puppies were lying in the middle of the street while other children threw stones at and hit them. Only one child had the courage and heart to take them in and bring them home. At the moment, Idefix is living temporarily in a run at his foster family – unfortunately, only a temporary accommodation, in which he cannot stay permanently. Should no home be found for him, he risks being moved to the overcrowded shelter – a place that has no room for a sensitive, young puppy like him. Idefix needs a loving home where he can arrive. With people who are happy about his puppyish curiosity and playfulness. A safe place where he can learn, grow, and trust. And also with other animals – Idefix gets along well with all of them! The sweet guy travels microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas. Due to his young age, he is not yet neutered. In his luggage, he will have an EU pet passport. A positive match with a foster home would be a first step to a happy life for him. Are you looking for a loyal, little companion with a big heart? Then Idefix could be the perfect friend for you. Many thanks to Johanna F.! You gave Idefix his name! As of: 24.09.

Vielen Dank Johanna F.! Du hast Idefix seinen Namen geschenkt! Stand: 24.09.2025

About Idefix

What life with Idefix looks like

Idefix is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Idefix, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Idefix?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Idefix on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Idefix if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Idefix already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Idefix isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Idefix and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
