Idril

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 2 years

Hi, my name is Idril! I am a curious and playful girl who likes to explore the world around me at my own pace. I enjoy playtime, both with people and other cats, and I have a moderate activity level that sees me switch between small play sessions and more relaxed breaks. I am “semi-tame” and quite brave in my own way. This means I live well with people, but I’m not quite there yet. I can often come over and sniff your hand to get better acquainted, but I still prefer to keep a little distance and am not so keen on being picked up or in sudden movements. When that happens, I tend to retreat quietly and observe from a safe distance. I value other cats and would like to share a home with a feline friend like me. I also believe I could thrive as an only cat for someone who understands that I like having some space and control. I enjoy having an open and exciting environment around me, so I can follow along, explore, and find my own little safe spots. I might not be the cat that seeks close contact first, but I am one who builds trust step by step. With curiosity, play, and small, quiet moments that mean a lot.

About Idril

What life with Idril looks like

Idril is a young adult mixed breed cat waiting at Hjerte for Hjemløse Katter in Trollåsen.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇳🇴Adopting from Norway

Norwegian rescues require thorough background checks. Animals leave with a Nordic pet passport and full vetting. Norway is outside the EU so import rules differ slightly — TRACES applies.

Frequently asked

Adopting Idril, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Idril?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hjerte for Hjemløse Katter handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Idril on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Idril if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hjerte for Hjemløse Katter will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Idril already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Idril isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hjerte for Hjemløse Katter early rather than rehoming privately; they know Idril and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NB). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
