Iggy

English Bulldog · Female · Young · 2 years

11-08-26 Iggy is a scared little lady who has come to us from a breeder. She is beginning to show an interest in people and will cautiously approach if you crouch down to her level, but she quickly loses confidence if movements are too fast or overwhelming. She simply needs time to learn that people can be kind. Iggy takes great comfort from her kennel friends and will need at least one kind and confident resident dog in her new home that she can lean on as she builds her confidence, learns to trust, and discovers the joys of home life. As Iggy has never lived in a home before, her adopters will need to be patient while she learns all about house training and settles into a new routine. She can live with older, dog-savvy teens aged 13+ who are sensible and allow her time to settle in. She will need adopters who have experience with ex-breeders as she can be nervous and will need a home that understands her needs. She is new to lead walking and will need continued, gentle encouragements in her new home as she continues to learn. Iggy is a wonderful girl who just needs time, patience and lots of TLC. With an understanding family and a confident canine companion by her side, we're sure she will continue to blossom and find her paws. Iggy has been assessed by our vets who have noted that she has Grade 3 bilateral luxating patellas. These aren't causing her any issues at the moment and may improve with gentle exercise as she builds muscle. They will need to be monitored by her adopters and their vet and her adopters should be aware that any future treatment relating to her luxating patellas will not be covered by insurance. Iggy has a travel document. This dog can be homed with a resident dog.

About Iggy

What life with Iggy looks like

Iggy is a young adult english bulldog dog waiting at Many Tears Animal Rescue in Llanelli.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Iggy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Iggy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Many Tears Animal Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Iggy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Iggy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Many Tears Animal Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Iggy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Iggy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Many Tears Animal Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Iggy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
