Adopt Igor (vermittelt)

Male · Senior · 9 years

Regarding the ages mentioned here, they are often estimated values as we do not always know the exact age. Other information like size is subjective. Igor Born November 2017 Gender male dog Breed Mix Size small to medium foster home Igor has found his dog bed. He now lives with a loving family and can explore the world with them. We wish Igor and his new pack a worry-free, happy, and exciting time together. Also known as Iggy, he came as the last addition to the family and he too has become a great guy. He is the last of the five Kreta puppy carton puppies who now came to a foster home in Germany. His siblings have all moved into a wonderful new home. Like the other puppies, Igor has a great personality, initially a bit insecure and reserved, but after a short adjustment period, he is a super snuggler (he likes to sit on laps) and shows a balanced nature. Once he has trust, he is very attentive and clingy. He lives at the foster home with five other dogs and cats. He gets along well with all the dogs, and the cats are no problem either. In the house, he is a rather quiet representative and was house-trained from the first day. He likes to go for walks and already walks well on a leash. If he finds something odd, he stops and examines it in detail. If a human kindly invites him to come along, then it can continue. Igor is a running and jumping-loving dog who would surely be a great companion for jogging or cycling. Here are a few pictures. For enlargement, please click on an image.

Tag an stubenrein. About Igor (vermittelt)

What life with Igor (vermittelt) looks like

Igor (vermittelt) is a small senior dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. in Zornheim.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Igor (vermittelt), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Igor (vermittelt)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Igor (vermittelt) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Igor (vermittelt) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Igor (vermittelt) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Igor (vermittelt) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Igor (vermittelt) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
