adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Indra has found her home! Her story: Just skin and bones and completely desperate in search of something to eat – that's how the little Indra was found together with her two brothers. At just 3 months old, the puppy siblings had already experienced so much suffering. Not much longer and they would have starved to death. Too soon they had to learn what fear means. And yet, a small spark of hope still shines in Indra's eyes. Her silky black-and-white fur invites you to stroke her, and somewhere beneath the uncertainty, a heart full of love beats. She is still shy and cautious – but with warmth, patience, and affection, this little soul will surely become a happy, lively young puppy. Indra is currently about 38 cm tall and only 6 kg light. In the shelter, she can finally indulge herself and gain some weight for the first time in her life. When it comes to other dogs, Indra is friendly, but whether she knows cats, we unfortunately don't know. Life in a house is still foreign to her, house training, leash walking, and all the other things she still has to learn. But with positive reinforcement and lots of love, she will soon master the puppy-1×1. And when puberty comes – the famous "reset button" for young dogs – this phase will also be mastered with loving, consistent guidance. Due to her appearance, it might be possible that a herding dog breed is mixed in with Indra, so having relevant experience or the willingness to familiarize yourself with the typical characteristics of a herding dog would be ideal. Herding dogs are intelligent, eager to learn, active, and have a strong work ethic. With enough physical and mental stimulation, they simply bring joy and are lively and great companions. Maybe you already see her: Indra, exploring the world curiously by your side, jumping over meadows for the first time in her life, feeling secure, and falling asleep at night, full, satisfied, and with trust at your feet. That's exactly what she wishes for – a loving home where she can simply be a dog. Indra will be microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, treated for fleas, and travel with an EU pet passport after a positive assessment. Are you the person who will show Indra how wonderful life is and bring the sparkle back to her eyes? Many thanks to Andrea H.! You gave Indra her beautiful name! As of: 18.09. This is a young, adolescent dog.

Vielen Dank Andrea H.! Du hast Indra ihren schönen Namen geschenkt! Stand: 18.09.2025

About Indra

What life with Indra looks like

Indra is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Indra, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Indra?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Indra on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Indra if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Indra already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Indra isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Indra and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
