Adopt Isaac

Mixed Breed Cat · Male · Young · 2 years

This extremely handsome boy is Isaac. He was found as a stray and was extremely matted and uncomfortable when he arrived. Isaac has since had a haircut - somewhat unflattering but much more practical and comfortable! Thankfully it will grow back and this time can be kept nice and healthy with our help. We discovered on his vet check that Isaac has FIV,. This is unlikely to cause issues for him, but please do get in touch for more information. As Isaac has lived outside for most of his life, we believe he would not be happy as an 'indoor-only' cat, so needs safe outdoor access in an area without too many other cats, or a garden that has been made secure with cat proof fencing. We aren't sure how Isaac would be around kiddies, so this would be subject to a visit, and we think he is so used to being his own boss that he wouldn't want to compete with other pets, so a pet free home would be best. Isaac will make a lovely, albeit squeaky, companion and we hope his new person comes along to take him home soon....could it be you? Get in touch!

About Isaac

What life with Isaac looks like

Isaac is a young adult mixed breed cat cat waiting at The Sheffield Cats Shelter in United Kingdom.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Isaac, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Isaac?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. The Sheffield Cats Shelter handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Isaac on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Isaac if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — The Sheffield Cats Shelter will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Isaac already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Isaac isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with The Sheffield Cats Shelter early rather than rehoming privately; they know Isaac and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
