Isi

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 6 years

Isi is looking for a new home ❤️ Isi is an incredibly wonderful dog with good obedience, who needs continuous and consistent guidance - and demands it too 😉. Someone who really wants to work and communicate with dogs would be perfect for Isi! ❤️ 🐶 Isi is 6 years old today, so she still has half her life ahead of her. She is a shelter dog and was probably born on August 1, 2020. She has lived with us since December 19, 2020. We have really grown to love her during that time. This situation is breaking our hearts all the more 😓. To give you a better idea of Isi, we have compiled some additional information and details here: 🏡 In everyday life • Isi can stay home alone without a problem. • She accepts the crate. • She knows and accepts spatial boundaries. For example, she is not allowed in the kitchen. • The command to lie down works. • She loves having a task - for example, treat-seeking games, practicing commands, wild play or howling together. • She accepts wearing a muzzle without any problems. • Driving is no problem at all. She loves going everywhere with us. 🐕 On the go & encounters • Leash walking works without any problems. Sometimes you have to remind her or ask her again and again. • Dog encounters in her "area" need to be managed, as she shows territorial behavior. With appropriate management, these encounters are very manageable. • Dog encounters in the city are no problem, as she is distracted by the surroundings. • Short visits to a city are also no problem. However, they need to be managed, as Isi gets scared or overwhelmed by the many external stimuli. We practice this at least once a week with her in the small town near us. • Isi is motivated to hunt. With a leash and appropriate vigilance, this is manageable. • The recall works well on a leash, but not 100% yet. ❤️ What Isi loves Isi loves long walks and hikes in the woods and fields. She loves to romp and play outside. She also loves going to dog school. She loves to master tasks together and is very proud of herself every time she accomplishes something. 🥰 Isi loves sand and sawdust above all - especially for digging. 😄 She also enjoys being guided through agility tasks. And Isi basically does everything if you guide her well: taking the ferry, taking the boat or riding the gondola - everything is possible for her. What you should know about Isi Isi needs guidance and management in some areas. Visitors or strangers in her home, children and cats are a problem for her. She would defend her home, with a resource issue also playing a role. Isi is also afraid of thunder and lightning. Therefore, anyone who gets to know Isi should enjoy working with a dog, reading her body language and giving her clear, consistent and fair guidance to give her a sense of security. We wish for Isi people who see this as a beautiful task and are enthusiastic about working, learning and growing with her. ❤️ Isi is a very special dog, whom we have to give up after all the years together with a heavy heart. We very much hope that we will find the right people for her on this path. If you are interested in Isi, please contact us: dewormed, vaccinated, chipped

About Isi

What life with Isi looks like

Isi is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Cats & Dogs in Not in Furth.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Isi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Isi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Cats & Dogs in Not handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Isi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Isi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Cats & Dogs in Not will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Isi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Isi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Cats & Dogs in Not early rather than rehoming privately; they know Isi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
