ISIDORE & MAYA – Opération Doyens

Mixed Breed · Male · Senior · 10 years

Cocker Spaniel and Beauceron x Epagneul Male Castrated and Female Spayed Born on 30.04.2013 & 15.08.2016 Identified by electronic chip INSEPARABLE For a year and a half, Maya and Isidore were taken in by our shelter after being removed from their owner for mistreatment. At 10 years old, these two dogs have already experienced abandonment, fear, and suffering. Their arrival at the shelter finally allowed them to find some safety, stability, and trust. They began to rebuild their lives, together. Today, however, their story has taken a new turn. The couple who adopted them in February 2025 is separating, and unfortunately, no one can keep Maya and Isidore today. At their age, they are facing a new abandonment. What we want for them is not just a new family. It's a family that is truly committed for the rest of their lives. Adopting Maya and Isidore is not just opening your door to two dogs. It's promising them that after everything they have been through, they will never be abandoned again. For our seniors (10 years and older), the adoption fee is €50 per dog, and the 30 Million Friends association covers up to €1,000 in veterinary costs per animal. This time must be the last.

About ISIDORE & MAYA – Opération Doyens

What life with ISIDORE & MAYA – Opération Doyens looks like

ISIDORE & MAYA – Opération Doyens is a senior mixed breed dog waiting at SPA de Basse-Normandie in Verson.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting ISIDORE & MAYA – Opération Doyens, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about ISIDORE & MAYA – Opération Doyens?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SPA de Basse-Normandie handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw ISIDORE & MAYA – Opération Doyens on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt ISIDORE & MAYA – Opération Doyens if I live in another country?: Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SPA de Basse-Normandie will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is ISIDORE & MAYA – Opération Doyens already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if ISIDORE & MAYA – Opération Doyens isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SPA de Basse-Normandie early rather than rehoming privately; they know ISIDORE & MAYA – Opération Doyens and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
