Adopt Iskierek

Mixed Breed · Male

Introducing Iskierko🔥 – a young, beloved kitten looking for a permanent home! Iskierek is a well-mannered, affectionate, young kitten. He is not afraid of new people, is curious, approaches people on his own and demands affection. In the temporary home, he is a perfect cat – he nicely uses the litter box, only chews his toys, and easily allows himself to be given medication. Iskierek came to Ekostraz from a traffic accident – someone hit him and left him lying on the street. Fortunately, he emerged without serious injuries, but he has a chronic inflammatory condition associated with a cat flu, and he is currently undergoing steroid treatment. He loves sleeping on the bed at the foot, because he loves human company and wants to be as close as possible. He likes to eat a lot, so it is necessary to give him appropriate portions, so that this little glutton does not get overweight. He is quite active, often also at night, but if you spend enough time playing with him during the day, then at night he is calm and mainly sleeps. Due to his gentle character, he is suitable for a home with children or other cats (he loves the company of other animals). The relationship with dogs is unknown, but considering his nature, there is a good chance that he will also accept a puppy. FIV/FELV tests are negative, the male cat is neutered.

About Iskierek

What life with Iskierek looks like

Iskierek is a adult mixed breed cat waiting at Fundacja EkoStraż in Wrocław.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Iskierek, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Iskierek?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja EkoStraż handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Iskierek on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Iskierek if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja EkoStraż will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Iskierek already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Iskierek isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja EkoStraż early rather than rehoming privately; they know Iskierek and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
