Adopt Isolde

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 2 years

Nome/Name: Isolde. Sexo/Gender: Femea/ FemaleIdade/Age: Jovem/YoungPorte/Size: Peqena/ SmallOther details: This beautiful young girl is named Isolde. She and her son Tristan were living a happy life in the village until their owner got ill and had to go to the hospital. He had to stay there for a long time and when it was clear he would not be able to return to his home, his family and friends asked us if we could take care of them. Isolde is very shy at first but if you patiently wait for her to come to you, she will soon be your friend. And when she is your friend, she is not shy at all and all over you for love and affection. She walks on the leash, is playfull sweet and just a happy girl. So a small and gorgeous girl who would love to have a home again

About Isolde

What life with Isolde looks like

Isolde is a small young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Pegadas e Bigodes in Portugal.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇹Adopting from Portugal

Portuguese rescues coordinate extensively with European rescue networks for cross-border placements, especially for galgos and podencos. Sterilization, vaccinations, and microchip ID are standard. Adoption fees typically cover the full vet workup.

Frequently asked

Adopting Isolde, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Isolde?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Pegadas e Bigodes handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Isolde on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Isolde if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Pegadas e Bigodes will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Isolde already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Isolde isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Pegadas e Bigodes early rather than rehoming privately; they know Isolde and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
