Ivar is a German Shepherd, born in 2018, and has been at the animal shelter since 2022. Once upon a time, Ivar was a farm dog, left to fend for itself despite its breed, and over time it ceased to see any sense in any (positive or negative) interaction with humans. Slowly and very laboriously, things began to change after a year in the animal shelter, but it still could not accept life in the shelter kennel. A great idea turned out to be placing Ivara in the run, where it has a hay-filled hut and plenty of high-quality food. Here, Ivar finally found itself! It now runs around a lot, which has given it the right build, and it also scares off wild animals and other creatures that appear behind the fence. But most importantly, it notices humans. Now, for those it trusts, it will almost do anything. It greets them at the run, asks for a walk or treats, which was unthinkable before! Ivar is a wonderful guard German Shepherd who will make a great job at deterring intruders on the property. It is a watchful dog, but definitely one that deserves the closeness of a human and its care. On walks with volunteers, it is very calm, affectionate, and eager for treats.

Ivar jest owczarkiem niemieckim, urodzony w 2018 roku, w schronisku przebywa od 2022. Kiedyś Ivar był psem działkowym, pozostawionym samemu sobie mimo swojej rasy i z czasem przestał on widzieć sens w jakiejkolwiek (pozytywnej czy negatywnej) interakcji z człowiekiem. Powoli i bardzo mozolnie zaczęło się to zmieniać po roku przebywania w schronisku, ale wciąż nie mógł zaakceptować życia w schroniskowym boksie. Świetnym pomysłem okazało się umieszczenie Ivara na wybiegu, gdzie ma budę wypełnioną po brzegi słomą i pod dostatkiem dobrej jakościowo karmy. Tu Ivar wreszcie się odnalazł! Sporo teraz biega, dzięki czemu ma odpowiednią sylwetkę, odstrasza też dziki i inną zwierzynę pojawiającą się za ogrodzeniem. No a przede wszystkim – zauważa człowieka. Teraz osobom, którym ufa, pozwoli zrobić ze sobą nieomal wszystko. Wyczekuje ich na wybiegu, prosi o spacer lub smakołyki, co kiedyś było nie do pomyślenia! Ivar to cudowna owczarkowa ciapa, która zrobi świetną robotę w odstraszaniu intruzów na posesji. Jest psem typowo stróżującym, ale zdecydowanie zasługującym też na bliskość człowieka i jego opiekę. Na spacerach z wolontariuszami jest bardzo spokojny, kontaktowy i łasy na smaczki.
