Ivy

Mixed Breed · Female · Senior · 11 years

Ivy Housecat female born around June 2015, neutered, FiV positive, vaccinated, microchipped, and dewormed. Living in Sibiu/Romania. Our lovely Ivy is looking for her dream home. Ivy is a very special cat who communicates a bit differently than others. When she wants attention, she bites. Even though she has had enough attention. Ivy doesn't mean to be malicious; she is just a unique cat. Dogs are not to Ivy's liking, so no dogs should live in the new home. Ivy is fully vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and treated for fleas during her travel arrangements. What does FIV mean? Over transmission: In the outer world, the FIV virus is only seconds viable, so that a transmission through the shared use of food/water and resting places or mutual grooming usually does not lead to infections. On average, FIV-infected cats do not have a shorter lifespan. With good husbandry and care, they can achieve a high age. Thus, a positive FIV test alone is never a reason for euthanasia! If you are interested in the lovely Ivy, please contact us!

Was bedeutet FIV?

About Ivy

What life with Ivy looks like

Ivy is a medium-sized senior mixed breed cat waiting at Anytime for Animals e.V. in Großefehn.

Senior cats are the gentlest house guests: predictable, mostly silent, and grateful for a sunny windowsill. Older cats often have minor dental or kidney issues — keep an eye on water intake and weight. Many sleep eighteen hours a day and want no part of any drama.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ivy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ivy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Anytime for Animals e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ivy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ivy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Anytime for Animals e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ivy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ivy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Anytime for Animals e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ivy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
