Ivy

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Young · 2 years

The enchanting Ivy is a roughly 2-year-old female cat, who immediately draws all eyes with her white fur and captivating blue eyes. But she is not just visually stunning – her loving personality makes her a true feline sweetheart. Ivy is playful, cuddly, and very people-oriented. She enjoys cuddle sessions just as much as small play sessions and meets her surroundings curiously and kindly. She is not a wild daredevil, but rather a balanced and pleasant companion who values harmony. For Ivy, we wish for a quiet home where she can arrive at her own pace. A secure balcony or a securely fenced garden would be wonderful, so she can bask in the sun and observe the world. Generally, Ivy can also be happy as a single cat. If another cat is already present, it should also be calm, social, and not dominant. Hectic or very assertive cats would not suit her gentle nature. Whoever gives Ivy a home wins a loving companion who, with her charming demeanor and faithful gaze, makes every day a little bit prettier. Now, the pretty young female cat only waits for people who will show her that she has finally arrived.

DE·Show original

About Ivy

What life with Ivy looks like

Ivy is a small young adult mixed breed cat waiting at Katzenhilfe Karlsruhe e.V. in Karlsruhe.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ivy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ivy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Katzenhilfe Karlsruhe e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ivy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ivy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Katzenhilfe Karlsruhe e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ivy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ivy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Katzenhilfe Karlsruhe e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ivy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
