adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Ivy has found its home! Her story: Little Chocolate Princess Ivy is a heartbreaker. Her silky fur shines in a deep chocolate brown, and her white paws and cute belly make her something special. Ivy arrived in her foster family in mid-March and from the start was a magical little puppy with a "Will to Please," intelligent, and eager to learn—truly a gem waiting to win your heart. She shows her chocolate side. From the first day, Ivy was house-trained, a true natural talent. She is curious, open to new things, and gets along well with other dogs. Despite this, she loves being the center of attention and enjoys the full attention of her people. Snuggling is her favorite, and she is very gentle and careful. At the same time, she is elegant, sportively active, and looks forward to shared adventures. She already runs well on a leash, both with a confident solo walk and alone. She has even mastered her first city and office outing, including car and train rides, with great bravado. The little mouse meets children and strangers with some reserve but can be easily convinced with the right treats. Originally from Romania, Busag, Ivy was found on the street with her mother Mala and her siblings Lui, Feli, Sylvi, Ramon, and Fawkes and was brought to safety. After a positive this breed, the little chocolate princess has captured your heart? A special thank you goes to Melanie F., who gave Ivy her beautiful name and the chance to find her family. As of April 1. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped.

About Ivy

What life with Ivy looks like

Ivy is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ivy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ivy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ivy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ivy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ivy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ivy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ivy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
