Adopt Izore

European Shorthair · Male · Senior · 14 years

My story: Izore came to our home with his older sister Haïna, after being voluntarily abandoned: the owner could no longer afford to take care of them. My character: Izore comes easily to humans to ask for some scratches, but he is not at all clingy. He clearly prefers food over cuddles (and he fully accepts that). Despite his age, Izore is still very energetic. He likes to expend energy, run, jump, hunt: a young retiree in all his glory! Obviously, a big guy like him will need to satisfy his energy needs, and he will perfectly remind you it's time for his food. He currently lives with his older sister Haïna, but she is not a big playmate: Izore regularly tries to play with her, and is gently told to go away. If you are looking for a playful and relatively independent companion, Izore is the cat for you. Likes/Dislikes: Izore is okay with cats, has lived with a dog, and has not been tested with children.

About Izore

What life with Izore looks like

Izore is a senior european shorthair cat waiting at APAA Trégrom in France.

Senior cats are the gentlest house guests: predictable, mostly silent, and grateful for a sunny windowsill. Older cats often have minor dental or kidney issues — keep an eye on water intake and weight. Many sleep eighteen hours a day and want no part of any drama.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Izore, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Izore?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. APAA Trégrom handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Izore on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Izore if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — APAA Trégrom will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Izore already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Izore isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with APAA Trégrom early rather than rehoming privately; they know Izore and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
