Jack

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Kitten · 5 months

Here is Jack, a little heart with an unusual journey. But Jack immediately touched us. Born to a wandering mother, he spent nearly 5 months in the wild, far from human contact. When our association launched a spaying/neutering campaign for this group of free-roaming cats, we rescued several older kittens… including Jack, who was then 4-5 months old: an age where socialization is a real challenge. Beneath his small shyness and timidity, he seeks contact, approaches slowly, and lets himself be held once he feels safe, enjoying cuddles. And he’s also a big player who loves to have fun and explore! Today, he is 7 months old (November 2025) and deserves a family that will offer him the softness and stability he dreams of. For Jack, we seek: • A gentle, patient, and present family • No young children • Future access to the outdoors after his adaptation • The presence of a feline companion would be a plus, but is not necessary Jack has already made an enormous journey… he just needs his forever home.

About Jack

What life with Jack looks like

Jack is a puppy/kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Au Service des Animaux 06 – Refuge de Mougins in France.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jack, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jack?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Au Service des Animaux 06 – Refuge de Mougins handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jack on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jack if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Au Service des Animaux 06 – Refuge de Mougins will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Jack already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jack isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Au Service des Animaux 06 – Refuge de Mougins early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jack and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
