Jack

Unknown · Adult · 8 years

JACK is a seven-year-old mixed breed, very nice and affectionate, with a beautiful chocolate color in all shades and will surely attract many people. His fate, however, is very complicated and he has gone through many situations where he was probably not treated sensitively. Therefore, he can sometimes have short-tempered reactions to various, often unexpected stimuli. It always takes time to get to know the dog well and to be able to guess what upsets him. He is already the third time in the shelter.... His future owner will have to regularly visit him before he can adopt him. Also, the new owner should have experience with dogs, because it will not be completely easy with Jack. Therefore, Jack is not suitable for children. He would rather suit a quieter household, which he has not experienced much in recent years, and he will certainly appreciate it. On the other hand, regarding exercise, he will welcome walks at a livelier pace.

CS·Show original

Vždy to chce hlavně čas, než psa dobře poznáte a dokážete odhadnout, co vše ho rozruší. Bude mu spíše vyhovovat klidnější domácnost, moc klidu v posledních letech nezažil, jistě to ocení. Naopak co se týče pohybu, přivítá procházky v živějším tempu.

About Jack

What life with Jack looks like

Jack is a large adult dog waiting at Útulek Zlín-Vršava in Zlín-Zlín 12.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇨🇿Adopting from Czech Republic

Czech shelters (útulky) include sterilization, vaccinations, and microchip ID. The adopter signs a written contract (smlouva) — the shelter may follow up to verify wellbeing.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jack, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jack?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Útulek Zlín-Vršava handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jack on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jack if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Útulek Zlín-Vršava will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Jack already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jack isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Útulek Zlín-Vršava early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jack and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (CS). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
