Jack

Mixed Breed Cat · Male · Adult · 10 years

Meet Jack, this beautiful boy is looking for his forever home where he can be the center of attention. He is a nervy boy when he doesn’t know you but very loving once he is comfortable. Jack will need time to settle into his new home and a patient owner who will be willing to let him come out at his own pace. Jack will need outdoor access in his new home and can live with children 14+. He is currently too nervous to test with other animals. To register your interest in adopting an animal from the JSPCA, please complete the form via the link below. If you are already registered with us and are interested in adoption, please contact us. As we receive many applications, we will only contact you if we think you are a good match. If you are renting your property, we will need to see proof of landlord permission. About Jack

What life with Jack looks like

Jack is a adult mixed breed cat cat waiting at JSPCA — Jersey SPCA in United Kingdom.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jack, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jack?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. JSPCA — Jersey SPCA handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jack on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jack if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — JSPCA — Jersey SPCA will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Jack already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jack isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with JSPCA — Jersey SPCA early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jack and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
