Jackson

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 5 years

JACKSON WOULD LIKE A HOME WITH HIS BEST FRIEND NELL 15-08-26 Jackson is a happy and friendly boy who has come to us with his best friend Nell after their owner sadly passed away. Jackson was originally adopted from us at around 6 months old, after he had travelled over from Romania. He has spent the last several years being loved and cherished in a home and is now looking for another forever home where he can continue to be a much loved member of the family. Jackson and Nell love each other very much and are very bonded, so we are looking for a special home where they can stay together. Jackson is a wonderful boy and although he is a little more reserved than Nell, he is happy to have a fuss and is a gentle soul who is missing home comforts and will make the most incredible companion. His previous home did mention that he has on occasion shown some minor resource guarding around high value food, however we haven't seen any signs of this while he has been with us, but this is something his adopters will need to monitor and work with. Jackson loves going for walks and adventures, thought he can be quite strong on the lead and does pull, so his adopters will need to be confident and physically able to handle him. Having previously lived in a home, Jackson should be house trained, although he may need some gentle reminders while he settles into his new surroundings. We would consider homing Jackson and Nell with dog-savvy teenagers. Jackson and Nell have already lost the person they loved, so it is incredibly important to us that they are able to face this next chapter together. They are looking for a loving home with someone who can give them both the time, care and security they deserve. A home with 6ft fencing is essential. If you think you could offer Jackson and Nell their happy ever after together, please don't leave them waiting. This dog can be homed with a resident dog.

About Jackson

What life with Jackson looks like

Jackson is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Many Tears Animal Rescue in Llanelli.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jackson, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jackson?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Many Tears Animal Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jackson on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jackson if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Many Tears Animal Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Jackson already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jackson isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Many Tears Animal Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jackson and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
