Adopt JACKSON

Male · 1 year

Rescued from a cruelty investigation, this adorable Angora mouse has lived among over 2,400 other mice of the same species. Gentle, sociable, and very endearing, he now seeks a calm and loving home. Adopting a NAC means committing to meet his specific needs: an appropriate habitat, companionship, specialized veterinary care, and balanced nutrition. Since JACKSON is a male, he cannot cohabitate with other mice unless neutered. Male-to-male cohabitation is strictly prohibited to avoid serious fights! For his well-being, it's important to provide a spacious environment with plenty of hiding spots, things to climb, digging materials, high-quality food, and several hours of playtime outside of his cage, as these are social animals.

About JACKSON

What life with JACKSON looks like

JACKSON is a very small adult animal waiting at SPA Pornic in Pornic.

Every animal has their own temperament and history. The shelter knows JACKSON far better than any listing can convey — ask about daily routine, ideal household, and what kind of adopter they're hoping for.

Note from the shelter: Requires specialized veterinary care, cannot cohabitate with other mice unless neutered, needs spacious environment with hiding places and climbing opportunities

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting JACKSON, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about JACKSON?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SPA Pornic handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw JACKSON on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt JACKSON if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SPA Pornic will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is JACKSON already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most animals on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if JACKSON isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SPA Pornic early rather than rehoming privately; they know JACKSON and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
