Jacky

Jack Russell Terrier · Female · Young · 2 years

Our little Jacky is a very lively and active Jack Russell mixed breed dog. She was found and unfortunately no one has reported her missing. We estimate Jacky's age to be around one to two years. Like many young female dogs, Jacky is very active and wants to be challenged. She has not learned much yet and is looking for people who have a lot of time for her and would like to train and work with her. At first, Jacky is very skeptical of strangers and needs time to build trust. However, once she realizes that her human wants to do her good, she loves him dearly and shows herself to be extremely attached and loving towards her owner. Jacky loves long walks and cuddles and plays absolutely. She needs consistent and assertive people because, according to her breed, she can also be very stubborn and stubborn. Regular visits to a dog school are also highly recommended for Jacky at the beginning. So far, she has shown herself to be unfriendly with other dogs and still has a lot to learn in this area. Jacky's future favorite humans should already have experience in keeping and raising dogs, have a lot of time and enjoy being physically active. Jacky is not suitable for a household with young children. If you are interested in adopting and would like to get to know our dear Jacky, please contact us by phone at . We would be very happy to hear from you on our answering machine. If you leave a callback number, we will call you back and also be happy to arrange a visit with you.

DE·Show original

About Jacky

What life with Jacky looks like

Jacky is a young adult jack russell terrier dog waiting at Tierheim Berg e.V. in Berg.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jacky, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jacky?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Berg e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jacky on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jacky if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Berg e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Jacky already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jacky isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Berg e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jacky and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
