Adopt Jade

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 5 months

Jade – a small powerhouse full of joy. Jade is an active, cheerful young female dog who spent her first weeks of life as a stray on Aegina with her siblings Perl, Sterling, Saphira and Coral as well as her mother. Despite this difficult start in life, she has developed into a confident and happy personality. After her family was brought to safety and she was able to stay at a foster home for a while, she is now in the animal shelter and waiting for her people. Her mother has already found her home – now it's Jade's turn. Jade is a real bundle of temperament and brings a fresh breeze to every situation. Similar to Coral, she knows exactly what she wants and meets her environment with impressive self-confidence. She doesn't know fear – curious, brave and full of joy, she throws herself into every adventure that comes her way. Jade is incredibly funny and playful, always ready for a new game or a little exploration tour. She moves through life without a care and infects everyone with her positive energy. Despite her strong character, she is very compatible and gets along well with other dogs, making her a great companion – even in an existing pack. Jade is looking for people who share her joy of life, give her clear structures and enjoy discovering the world with an active, confident dog. Jade is waiting to conquer a life full of joy and adventures with you. The animals are described as they behave in the animal shelter or at the foster home. This behavior does not appear immediately upon arrival. Some may initially react with shyness to the new situation. Animals from the animal shelter all have a past that was often not nice or even cruel. This past cannot be shaken off overnight. They need time to settle in and build trust. Please be patient and give your pet the necessary time!

About Jade

What life with Jade looks like

Jade is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Aegean Dogs e.V. / FAZA Aegina in Berlin.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jade, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jade?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Aegean Dogs e.V. / FAZA Aegina handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jade on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jade if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Aegean Dogs e.V. / FAZA Aegina will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Jade already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jade isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Aegean Dogs e.V. / FAZA Aegina early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jade and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
