Jahna

Unknown

Jahna came to us as a found animal. Unfortunately, she was not tagged and no owner who is missing her has reported to us. Therefore, she is now looking for a new home with her own kind. The pretty Welli lady is still very skeptical of people and prefers to keep her distance. She has been thoroughly checked by a veterinarian and is now ready for her new home. If Jahna has piqued your interest, we would be delighted to receive a meaningful email with pictures of the future living situation. We only mediate in species-appropriate care and not in single-animal care. General interest inquiry: No diseases known.

About Jahna

What life with Jahna looks like

Jahna is a small adult bird waiting at Tierschutzverein Ettlingen in Ettlingen.

Birds are long-lived, social, and noisy. The species and individual history matter enormously — ex-companion parrots can carry strong attachments and trauma. Ask the shelter about their daily routine, diet, and whether they'd do best alone or with a flockmate.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

Paperwork, vet checks and transport rules differ by species and by country. Ask the shelter what is included and what you will need to arrange before you commit.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jahna, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jahna?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Ettlingen handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jahna on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jahna if I live in another country?: Sometimes. Whether a bird can move between countries depends on the species and the rules in both countries, and some species need permits or have restrictions. Ask Tierschutzverein Ettlingen what paperwork and transport they require, and check the import rules of your country before you commit.
Is Jahna already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: What a bird comes with (vet checks, vaccinations, identification, paperwork) varies by shelter and species. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask Tierschutzverein Ettlingen directly what is included and what Jahna still needs.
What happens if Jahna isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Ettlingen early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jahna and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
