Adopt Jamie (m)

Mixed Breed · Male · Senior · 16 years

<3 at a foster home in 80999 Munich <3 Jamie – Would you like to help a particularly loving dog discover more joy in life and give him a happy life? Jamie, born on February 1, 2021, is about 45 cm tall and weighs around 13 kg. Background: The gentle male dog was picked up by the dogcatcher and brought to the city shelter Botosani, where he was very overwhelmed. Additionally, he was placed in a kennel with dominant male dogs, which made his life stressful and fearful. The winter weather conditions pushed him over the edge; he couldn't lie in dry and warm conditions because the other dogs bullied him and wouldn't let him into the shelters. – A foster home for him was found quickly. – JAMIE currently lives with a dog and cats at a foster home. There, he was able to recover and gradually discover how many beautiful experiences a happy dog life has in store for him. With much patience, love, and calm training, he has made impressive progress in a short time. Jamie drives the car calmly and is now very happy on walks – especially when a little detour to the water is included. He is house-trained and, due to his harmonious nature, is ideally suited for a cat household. Calmness and balance are particularly important to him. Jamie gets along well with other dogs. In his future home with another dog, a friendly, more unobtrusive dog partner would be ideal, as Jamie less appreciates dominant and very stormy dogs. On the leash, he runs happily, usually quite relaxed. Occasionally, he still pulls a bit, but he is also making steady progress here. Playing is not currently one of his interests, but it could certainly change with security and trust. He can be touched and stroked everywhere without a problem, but he is not yet a dog who actively enjoys cuddles. His foster mom has fallen deeply in love with him and describes him as an exceptionally pleasant, loving, and kind-hearted dog who takes everything in stride. At home, he feels safe, can relax wonderfully, and masters being alone with sovereign confidence. Since Jamie is a loving and sensitive treasure, no children under 16 years old should live in the household. We are looking for empathetic, dog-experienced people for JAMIE who will show him the world in peace, not overload him with too much at once, and still challenge his development consistently. Important to know: Due to his past, Jamie brings a certain basic mistrust of people. His trust must be earned patiently – it does not come automatically. Therefore, he is looking for a sovereign primary caregiver who gives him security, takes decisions, and on whom he can orient himself. Jamie tends to avoid situations. Here, it takes a good sense to lead him gently without overwhelming him too much. Those who are willing to invest time, patience, and engagement in building trust will be rewarded with an extremely loyal companion who walks faithfully at the side of his person through life. Jamie is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and tested negative for Mediterranean diseases (Snap test).

About Jamie (m)

What life with Jamie (m) looks like

Jamie (m) is a small senior mixed breed dog waiting at Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. in Nürnberg.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jamie (m), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jamie (m)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jamie (m) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jamie (m) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Jamie (m) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jamie (m) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jamie (m) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
