adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Janosch has found his people! His story: Janosch captivates you the moment he looks at you with his beautiful eyes. Unfortunately, despite his wonderful nature, he hasn't had as much luck as his siblings, who have all found homes already. Originally, he was supposed to be adopted on-site, but the conditions just didn't quite match up. Now, the young puppy is searching for his soulmates. Who would like to give him a home? Adopting a puppy allows you to experience and accompany dog life from the very beginning. A young dog needs love, care, patience, and no expectations. Puppies should not be left alone for long periods in their first year of life. Once Janosch settles in at his forever family at his own pace, he will surely adapt well. Janosch still doesn't know what house training, leash manners, or a recall means. Here, he needs dog parents who can show him, at an appropriate pace, what everything in his new dog life entails. It can always happen that things don't go as planned. In case of uncertainties, it can always be helpful to work with experienced dog trainers from the start. Regular visits to dog training classes can be a great help in becoming a good human-dog team. Always make sure that positive reinforcement methods are used. Janosch still needs to learn the whole dog 1×1 and will eventually enter puberty. During this phase, he will likely test boundaries and may even forget some things he has learned. It is important to navigate this time with loving consistency. Patience and a good dose of humor are always helpful. Like all puppies, Janosch wants to explore the world and is looking forward to all the new things he will learn. Janosch is typically playful and curious. He shows no noticeable behavioral issues. He approaches everything with openness and often gets a few cuddles. He is eager to learn and a sweet little puppy. Janosch is vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and treated for fleas. He is not yet neutered for his age. Many thanks to Liane for giving Janosch a name and thus his identity. As of 14.04.

Vielen Dank an Liane. Stand: 14.04.2025

About Janosch

What life with Janosch looks like

Janosch is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Janosch, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Janosch?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Janosch on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Janosch if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Janosch already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Janosch isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Janosch and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
