adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Janosch has found his home! His story: There comes Janosch, with his gentle but steady step. He has learned that life consists of small wonders that one must only find them – whether a flower by the roadside or a helping hand in need. That is Janosch, and his longing gaze speaks volumes. It's as if he is asking with his eyes: "Are you out there, my family?" Janosch is looking for a home where he can live out all his puppy antics! Janosch is only about 3 months old and was found with his siblings Alva, Thea, Zora, Santa, Tassilo, Ohanna, and Fionn. They were just 10 weeks old and were likely abandoned by the roadside to die. Fortunately, they were rescued by our animal rescuer Diana and did not end up in the shelter but were allowed to grow up with her for now. But Diana cannot permanently house the litter, so they are all looking for a home as quickly as possible. They have developed wonderfully. Janosch is a playful, lively, and people-oriented male dog who is ready to start his adventure in the big world. Janosch gets along well with both dogs and cats. Janosch still has his fluffy puppy fur and is simply adorable. Puppies are like little sponges – they soak up everything they experience. This means that puppyhood is incredibly important for their development. Janosch is just learning what the world has to offer, and with your help, he can grow into a confident and balanced male dog. During puppyhood, it's all about exploring, playing, and even having little accidents at home. That's just part of it. It's an intense but incredibly rewarding time when you set the foundation for a happy dog life. It's not just a learning phase, but also one where you build a deep bond with each other. And it's the time when you can playfully teach Janosch what he needs to know. Janosch will grow to be medium-sized, and with growth comes puberty. And yes, there is a rebellious phase for dogs too. What Janosch can do now obediently, he might "forget" during puberty. His ears are often on full alert, and you have the feeling that you have to start from scratch again. But don't worry, this is completely normal. It's important to stay calm, patient, and consistent during this phase. With humor and love, you can also make it through this time. If you are ready to take on the responsibility of a lifelong dog life and give Janosch a safe, loving home, then get in touch! Janosch has so much love to give and is waiting to turn your life upside down. Janosch travels microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated with his EU pet passport. After a positive But also a foster home would be a good start to a happy future. Thanks, Sarah! You gave Janosch his name and thus an identity. As of: 20.09.

Stand: 20.09.2025

About Janosch

What life with Janosch looks like

Janosch is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Janosch, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Janosch?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Janosch on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Janosch if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Janosch already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Janosch isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Janosch and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
