adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt this dog! Jari was on the way with two brothers and his mother in the mountains. There was little to eat there, and his mother had a hard time providing for herself and her puppies. We were able to secure Jari and his brother Hannes. His mother and the third brother are still on the way. However, we are doing our best to bring the other two into safety as well. For Jari, it was a high wire act. He was infected with parvovirus and needed urgent medical care. Fortunately, he made it – Jari is now recovered. The illness had cost him strength, but he fought back to life bravely. Unfortunately, his situation has not improved much: his place in the foster home was only temporary. For a young dog recovering from a serious illness, this is particularly tough. At least he now eats very well and has put on some weight. A foster home or – even better – a permanent home would still be incredibly important for his further development. Jari is a rather quiet and reserved puppy dog who observes at first. Once picked up and given attention, however, he blossoms and enjoys cuddles very much. Jari gets along well with other dogs. Currently, Jari is about 4.5 months old and measures around 40 cm. He is expected to grow to a medium to large size. He has beautiful, dense fur in various shades. Visually, it can be assumed that Jari is a herding dog mix. These dogs are independent thinkers and like to make their own decisions. Here, clear, fair training and confident leadership are important. We wish for Jari people who either have experience or are willing to delve into these characteristics. Jari is still at the very beginning of his young life and has already endured so much. But like any other young dog, he must learn the dog ABC – house training, leash walking, and basic commands are still unfamiliar to him. The more we hope that his heart people will discover him, accompany him patiently, and show him what a safe home can be – so he does not have to grow up in the shelter. A visit to a positively working dog training class can be a valuable support. Joint training strengthens the bond, rehomed safety, and helps you grow as a team. Jari is ready to travel now, is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea treated, and travels with an EU pet passport to his new home. Are you the safe haven for our little fighter heart? Then contact us. Thank you, dear Simon, for this lovely name. Thanks to you, Jari can hopefully soon travel to a safe and happy future. As of: 29.04.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 30.05.2026

About Jari

What life with Jari looks like

Jari is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jari, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jari?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jari on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jari if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Jari already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jari isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jari and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
