Jaskier

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 5 years

Jaskier is a two-year-old, energetic dog. He’s friendly toward people. He loves playing and interacting with humans and would happily stay by his guardian’s side every step of the way. He was raised in an apartment building. He’s house-trained and can be left alone for several hours—though on occasion his bedding or shoes have suffered a bit, he doesn’t show strong signs of separation anxiety. Jaskier is an energetic dog who needs long, engaging walks. When provided with these, he’s calm and relaxed at home. Unfortunately, during walks Jaskier barks at other dogs and pulls on the leash toward them. However, when there are no distracting stimuli around, he walks nicely by your side. Jaskier is very intelligent; he eagerly learns commands and enjoys playing fetch. He’s vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered. We’re looking for a home for Jaskier that’s free of other pets and small children—ideally with guardians who have experience caring for dogs. He’ll repay you with immense love. Gender: male, born 2022, size: large, neutered: yes. Contact: Małgosia 608 315 461, Klaudia 512 237 880. We want to find the best possible home for him, so we’ll ask interested applicants to fill out an adoption questionnaire: kundellos.pl/ankieta-adopcyjna/

About Jaskier

What life with Jaskier looks like

Jaskier is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Józefowie in Józefów.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jaskier, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jaskier?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Józefowie handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jaskier on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jaskier if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Józefowie will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Jaskier already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jaskier isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Józefowie early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jaskier and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
