Jasmine has come to us from a breeder to find the loving forever home she deserves. Jasmine is now in a foster home, where she has settled wonderfully and is showing us just how much progress she has made. She was adopted for a short period of time but was reluctantly returned to us as the resident dogs in her previous home were unable to accept her. She is still a sensitive little lady who can become skittish when worried, but she is beginning to relax and show more of her sweet personality. Jasmine is looking for a calm, quiet and stress-free home with adopters who have experience of ex-breeding dogs and understand that she will need time, patience and reassurance to settle into her new life. A quieter area would be preferable, as she can find too much going on overwhelming. There is no quick fix for Jasmine, but she is already showing that with the right environment and plenty of understanding, she can continue to grow in confidence. She takes great comfort from other dogs and will need friendly resident dog or dogs in her new home. They can be any size or breed, but they will need to be kind and happy to have Jasmine around, allowing her to follow them and curl up alongside them without being fazed if she becomes a little skittish. She sleeps quietly through the night in a dog bed close to her foster family's dogs and clearly finds having other dogs around a great source of comfort and security. Jasmine would love a secure garden to explore, although she found a very large garden overwhelming in foster, so a smaller area would be preferable. She has been doing wonderfully with her toileting and will take herself outside when the back door is open. In fact, she has been completely clean since arriving in foster, which is fantastic progress. She also enjoys exploring and has even been known to make her way into raised flower beds for a snooze! Jasmine has also made lovely progress with her confidence and is becoming much more relaxed in her foster home. She loves her food and treats and is now eating her meals more calmly. As she arrived very thin, she is currently having three meals a day to help her gain weight. She can be a little particular about drinking and currently needs a tiny amount of grated cheese added to her water to encourage her, but she is otherwise doing well. She can live with older, dog-savvy teens aged, 16+, who are sensible and allow her time to settle in. Jasmine can give you the runaround when she needs to be picked up, but once she is safely in your arms she relaxes and seems to really enjoy being cuddled. She has even started to play with her octopus toy when nobody is looking, which is such a lovely glimpse of the playful little character hiding underneath her worries. Jasmine's back leg is doing wonderfully and does not cause her any problems. She happily pings up the back steps and even climbs into the raised flower beds for a comfortable snooze. When Jasmine first arrived, she was walking with a noticeable limp and struggling to use her right hind leg. Our vets found that an old injury had healed with significant scar tissue, which was restricting her movement and preventing her from fully extending her leg. Jasmine underwent surgery to remove some of the excess scarred tissue and has continued to recover well. She will need to continue building up the muscle in her leg and may always have a slightly unusual gait due to her old injury, but it certainly doesn't stop her from getting on with life. Jasmine also has an old healed break in her tail. Jasmine is a truly sweet little girl who has already come such a long way. She will need a special home that is willing to give her the time, patience and understanding she needs to continue building her confidence. With friendly canine companions to lean on, a quiet environment and plenty of love, we are sure Jasmine will continue to blossom. She may take a little more time than some, but we truly believe this sweet little girl will be worth it. Jasmine has a travel document. This dog can be homed with a resident dog.
