Adoption requirements Adoption process Request this pet now! Request this dog now! Jason is part of the so-called "Eleven Gang" – a cheerful group of puppies who were rescued from the street along with their mom. The little family lived in constant danger. While our animal welfare workers were already on their way to another emergency, they discovered the mother dog with her puppies right in the middle of the road – one of the little ones had just been hit by a car. Turning a blind eye was not an option. Despite the shelter being overcrowded, we took in the family because they were far too vulnerable and unprotected. Jason is an open and playful puppy who is curious about the world and life. He has since moved to a foster home where he excels as a model student. He quickly learned basic commands and forms a strong bond with his primary caregiver. He also gets along wonderfully with other dogs of all sizes. Visually, Jason is a real eye-catcher. His beautiful, brown-streaked fur with a light chest marking gives him a special aura. His dark, alert eyes and soft floppy ears enhance his gentle, slightly thoughtful gaze. Jason will likely grow to be a medium to large size. For Jason, we wish for a loving family that understands what it means to teach a puppy the basics of dog life. He needs patience, time, clear structures, and a sensitive, consistent upbringing. A rural or quieter residential area would be the perfect jackpot for Jason. Attending positive reinforcement dog training classes in the future would also be wonderful support, helping Jason develop into a confident companion – especially during puberty when the little ones quickly question everything they have learned. Jason is, of course, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and treated for fleas. He comes with his EU pet passport. Thank you very much, Ker W.! You have given Jason his identity! As of 05/08.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Vielen Dank Ker W.! Du hast Jason seine Identität geschenkt! Stand: 08.05.2026

About Jason

What life with Jason looks like

Jason is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jason, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jason?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jason on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jason if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Jason already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jason isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jason and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
