adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Jazz can stay with his foster family! His story: Jazz and his siblings Astro, Amigo, Goethe, Colore, Noura, and Jelia are seven charming puppies from Viann. They had a guardian angel, because unlike many other small puppy souls, they were not born on the streets. Mama Viann was abandoned in a village about 15 km from Bistrita. A neighbor asked our animal welfare workers for help with the spaying of Viann. But it was too late, for she was already pregnant and gave birth to 10 puppies, of which unfortunately not all survived. The little lively litter is now in safety with our animal rescuer Diana, but they should not grow up in the shelter, because that is not a happy place, not even in winter. Jazz, with his black-and-white fur and sweet floppy ears, strolls through life happily on his long legs. His loyal gaze is simply irresistible. Jazz is typical for a puppy, playful and gets along well with other dogs. Whether that also applies to cats, we do not know. He is likely to grow to be medium-sized. What genes are sleeping in him is hard to say, maybe he will have some hound-like traits, but that is just speculation. Time for him and you to find out together! Jazz is looking for people who do not expect anything from him at first and show him how a normal dog life works. He is still a baby and has a lot to learn. Sometimes a mishap should not be held against him and Jazz should always be guided with a positive reinforcement training style. He is already looking forward to his new life with nature walks, lots of snuggling, and also a visit to puppy school. Puppies should not be left alone as much as possible in their first year of life. Additionally, the more demanding teenage years are approaching. The hormone chaos turns the little rascals' world upside down. They "forget" often what they have learned and their ears are on full alert. Therefore, it is especially important in this phase to consistently – but lovingly – train. And there is also good news: This phase will pass! Jazz travels microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated, with his EU pet passport in his luggage. After a positive But he would also be very happy with a foster home. Thank you, Claudia! You gave Jazz his lovely name and thus the way to a happy dog life. Status: 25.12.

Stand: 25.12.2024

About Jazz

What life with Jazz looks like

Jazz is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jazz, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jazz?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jazz on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jazz if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Jazz already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jazz isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jazz and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
