Jeany

Female

We have been observing Jeany at the cat shelter for a long time, but she still doesn't let us get close to her. She was found alive on the street and was already spayed and microchipped, but we couldn't find out where she came from. She feels comfortable at the shelter, as far as we can tell. Especially in the evenings and at night, she leaves her favorite spot in the farthest corner of the garden and goes to her favorite spots on the patio or the scratching post in the room. Early in the morning, when we bring the food, she retreats behind the hut in the garden again. So we suspect it will take a long time until Jeany opens up to us - but who knows what has happened to her so far. Thanks to our volunteer cat caregivers, she is now being taken by the paw and can slowly get used to human presence. Nevertheless, it will still be a long way to go, and even though we have seen many great developments from shy cats, Jeanys new owners will need a lot of patience. She is absolutely not a cat for cat beginners. Jeany gets along well with her fellow cats in the room, but doesn't seek their company. She also prefers to lie alone in her favorite spots.

DE·Show original

About Jeany

What life with Jeany looks like

Jeany is a adult cat waiting at Tierheim Bonn in Bonn.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jeany, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jeany?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Bonn handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jeany on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jeany if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Bonn will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Jeany already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jeany isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Bonn early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jeany and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
