Jefe Pomelo

Male · Adult · 4 years

Precious and wonderful cat needs a loving family for life. Abandoned, mistreated, and injured on the streets. He appeared with a very dirty and worn collar, likely put there years ago and the person who abandoned him didn’t even bother to remove it. He has a very good temperament, is calm, and extremely affectionate, a little playful, gets along well with calm cats, and is a 10 out of 10 cat. Despite all the hardships, he still trusts human kindness and knows not everyone is the same. He is FIV positive but asymptomatic. With proper introductions, there should be no problem mixing him with FIV-negative cats. He gets along well with everyone, is a friendly and very intelligent cat, and the only case where we wouldn’t recommend it is mixing him with a nervous and dominant FIV-negative male cat. Pomelo was rescued from the streets with multiple injuries, some serious, caused by fights with uncastrated and dominant cats. He was the "victim," though he only tried to defend himself. After not finding a foster home for him, we had to release him after castrating and treating his deep wounds. After almost two years, we rescued him again (he developed an allergy in his eyelids, we still don’t know the reason. ) We repeated the FIV test, and he only showed a very faint trace, his viral load is practically non-existent. Thankfully, he now has a loving foster home where he is gradually adapting to the Michis of the house. Wish him luck, we hope everything goes well, and he can stay. This time, he can’t go back to the streets; it would be too cruel. We hope he can finally be happy as he deserves. He puts everything into it. ❤️‍&;

Descripción Precioso y buenísimo gatazo necesita una amorosa familia para toda la vida. Fue abandonado, maltratado y agredido en la calle. Apareció con un collar muy sucio y gastado, seguramente alguien lo puso hace años y ni siquiera molestó en quitárselo antes de abandonar. Tiene muy buen carácter, es tranquilo y muy muy mimoso, un poco juguetón, lleva muy bien con los gatos tranquilos, es un gato 10. A pesar de todos los males vividos aún confía en la bondad humana, sabe que no todos somos iguales. Es positivo asintomático en inmunodeficiencia felina. Haciendo las adaptaciones correctamente no ha de haber ningún problema para juntarlo con los gatos negativos a FIV. El lleva genial con todos, es un gato amable y muy inteligente, el único caso que no lo recomendaríamos es juntarlo con un gato macho negativo, nervioso y dominante. Pomelo fue rescatado de la calle con múltiples heridas, algunas de gravedad, provocadas por las peleas con los gatos no castrados y dominantes. El fue la "víctima", aunque solamente intentaba a defender" . Al no encontrar una casa de acogida para el tuvimos que liberar después de castrar y curar sus profundas heridas. Después de casi 2 años lo volvimos a rescatar (le salió una alergia en los párpados, aún no sabemos el porqué. ) Volvimos a repetir el test de inmunodeficiencia y tan solo salió una sombra prácticamente invisible, su carga viral es prácticamente inexistente) . Por suerte ahora tiene una amorosa casa de acogida donde se está adaptando de forma gradual a los Michis de la casa. Desead la suerte , ojalá todo vaya bien y puede quedar, está vez ya no puede volver a la calle, sería demasiado cruel. Ojalá por fin pueda ser feliz como merece. El pone todo de su parte. ❤️‍&;

About Jefe Pomelo

What life with Jefe Pomelo looks like

Jefe Pomelo is a adult cat waiting at CES Sant Feliu (adoptaungatito.es) in Spain.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee (typically €250–€400 for a dog, €100–€180 for a cat). Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jefe Pomelo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jefe Pomelo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. CES Sant Feliu (adoptaungatito.es) handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jefe Pomelo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jefe Pomelo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — CES Sant Feliu (adoptaungatito.es) will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Jefe Pomelo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jefe Pomelo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with CES Sant Feliu (adoptaungatito.es) early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jefe Pomelo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (CA). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
